Planet Eclipse EGO 09 X-Factor Limited Edition Marker
The Eclipse Ego has always been built around the solid foundations of Reliability, Performance, Light-Weight and Simplicity. And the Ego9 is no exception. It is obvious from the outset that the ground-up re-working of the Ego9 was undertaken with the sole purpose of improving on every one of those key aspects. In fact, performance in almost every area has been increased substantially over the previous generation of Ego.
The solenoid has been completely redesigned to allow for faster more reliable cycle rates and eliminate the need for QEVs to port exhaust gas and increasing user serviceability. Major improvements to the valve chamber and body of the EGO 09 have lead to a noticeable decrease in gun kick, making the marker shoot even smoother then the 08 version and increasing rapid shot grouping accuracy.
Another new feature for the 09 Ego is a dual trigger switch. The EGOs have also in the past had a optical trigger switch. A beam of light (laser) sensed when the trigger past threw the sensor to start the firing sequence. This as also been a very reliable and effective system. There are some paintball players out there who swear by a micro switch trigger and not an optical sensor. A micro switch is just what it sounds like, a little switch. They usually like to hear the switch click on and say its better performing because its more reactive to the trigger pull. Eclipse in the 09 Ego put both an optical trigger and a micro switch in the gun. You can control and adjust which trigger switching device you would like to use. So tin the EGO 09 you get the best of both worlds. It also makes a good back up system.
The new S3 inline regulator allows a higher flow rate threw the regulator, which helps with lower operating pressure, less chance for shoot downs, and can allow for use of a LP tank, which can add to shot on shot velocity consistencies. The regulator also has a self bleeding feature which is great safety feature. The regulator will sense when a tank is detached from the gun, and will bleed any remaining stored air inside of the regulator body. This prevents the chance of a gun accidentally mis firing, which is a problem in paintball.
